Global Tensions Disrupt Air India Routes:

Global Tensions Disrupt Air India Routes:

Earlier in the day, flight tracking data from Flightradar24 showed several long-haul Air India flights abruptly changing course or returning, prompting speculation that was later confirmed to be linked to the Iran airspace shutdown.

    What Triggered the Airspace Closure?

Tensions escalated sharply after Israel launched airstrikes inside Iran, reportedly targeting nuclear sites, missile factories, and top military personnel.

According to international media reports, explosions were heard near Natanz, the country’s main uranium enrichment facility. Iran’s state television claimed that Revolutionary Guards commander Hossein Salami had been killed in the attack, along with multiple casualties in Tehran, including children.

In a recorded video, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said, “We are at a decisive moment in Israel’s history,” hinting at the possibility of a prolonged military campaign to prevent Iran from acquiring nuclear weapons. Israel has also declared a state of emergency, anticipating retaliation.

Air India Plane Crashes in Ahmedabad; 241 Dead

In a separate tragedy, Air India flight AI 171, a Boeing 787 Dreamliner, crashed shortly after take-off from Ahmedabad’s Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport on Thursday evening, killing 241 people. Only one passenger survived and is undergoing treatment.

The aircraft was London-bound with 242 passengers, including former Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani, who perished in the crash. The plane crashed into the BJ Medical College complex in Meghaninagar, causing additional fatalities on the ground.

Officials confirmed that among the deceased were:

    • 168 Indians
    • 53 British nationals
    • 7 Portuguese
    • 1 Canadian

Four MBBS students and the wife of a doctor were also killed in the medical complex.

Eyewitnesses said the plane appeared to lose altitude rapidly before crashing in a ball of fire, releasing thick black smoke visible for miles.

According to Home Minister Amit Shah, there was virtually “no chance of survival” due to the intense heat from over 1.25 lakh litres of jet fuel burning on impact.

Government Responds; Rescue Operation in Final Stages

Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived in Ahmedabad on Friday morning to review the situation. Union Home Minister Amit Shah, along with Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel, met with officials and rescue teams late Thursday to assess the aftermath.

Rescue operations continued overnight and are now in their final stages, according to officials. A formal investigation has been ordered to determine the exact cause of the crash.

    Summary

From global air disruptions caused by geopolitical tensions to the devastating crash in Ahmedabad, Air India faces one of its darkest weeks in recent history. While international diplomatic efforts try to cool down the Iran-Israel conflict, the nation mourns the lives lost in the tragic Ahmedabad crash.

iPhone 17 Launch Without AI Boost: Should You Still Consider Buying It?

iPhone 17 Launch Without AI Boost: iPhone 17

Apple has made it official—its AI ambitions are going to take a bit longer to materialize. During the WWDC 2025 event held earlier this week, the tech giant admitted that its Siri AI overhaul and broader Apple Intelligence features won’t be ready for iPhone users this year as originally expected.

That revelation has sparked one key question: Does it still make sense to buy the iPhone 17 later this year, especially when Apple itself has confirmed the lack of big AI upgrades?

Let’s unpack what we know so far—and whether you should be eyeing the upcoming iPhone or settling for a better deal on current models.

    iPhone 17: What’s Expected in 2025?

While Apple may be pulling back on the AI rollout, rumours suggest a decent set of hardware upgrades for the iPhone 17 lineup. Some of the major expected changes include:

    • 120Hz OLED display coming to standard iPhone 17 models (not just Pro).
    • Slimmer bezels and possibly a redesigned frame.
    • Improved battery efficiency with the new A18 chip.
    • The possible launch of an all-new iPhone 17 Air variant, said to be a lightweight premium option.

These upgrades will appeal to users coming from older models like the iPhone 12 or 13. However, for those already using the iPhone 15 or iPhone 16, the leap may not be worth the price—especially without the AI jump.

Apple’s AI Delay: What It Means for You

Apple had teased its AI focus during the iPhone 16 launch with flashy terms like Apple Intelligence and “smarter Siri.” But the delay means those enhancements will either roll out very late or skip the iPhone 17 entirely—at least for the regular variants.

This puts the spotlight back on iPhone 16 models, particularly the iPhone 16 Pro, which already comes with a powerful chipset and offers solid performance for daily tasks, gaming, photography, and more. And now, with the iPhone 17 expected later this year, iPhone 16 prices are likely to drop, making it a compelling buy for budget-conscious Apple fans.

    What About iOS 26?

Apple is still launching iOS 26 alongside the iPhone 17, and it brings a fresh visual design, dubbed the “Liquid Glass” interface. There are some UI-level changes and refinements, but unless the new iPhones come with exclusive software features, the iOS 26 experience will remain largely consistent across recent models—including iPhone 15 and 16.

That again reduces the urgency to get the newest model, unless you’re chasing the latest design or simply want to own the most recent iPhone.

Why People Still Buy New iPhones Every Year

Despite the slow AI rollout, millions still flock to buy the newest iPhone every year. Why? Here are a few reasons:

    1. It’s new. It’s Apple. Many users just like to stay updated with the latest.
    2. Resale value: Newer iPhones retain higher resale prices, making upgrades more cost-efficient over time.
    3. Peer influence and brand prestige: Owning the newest iPhone remains a status symbol in many markets.

So even if the upgrades seem incremental, demand is unlikely to drop drastically—especially if Apple nails the pricing strategy for the standard iPhone 17 and the rumoured Air model.

Should You Buy iPhone 17 in 2025?

    Here’s a quick verdict:

    • Yes, if:
      • You own an iPhone 12 or older.
      • You want a better display, new design, and longer battery life.
      • You’re curious about the iPhone 17 Air and don’t mind paying premium.
    • No, if:
      • You already own an iPhone 15 or iPhone 16.
      • You were mainly excited for AI features like smarter Siri or on-device Apple Intelligence.
      • You’re looking for a better value—iPhone 16 series is expected to get big discounts once the iPhone 17 launches.

    Final Thoughts

Apple might be pressing pause on AI ambitions for now, but it’s likely setting the stage for something much bigger in 2026. Until then, the iPhone 17 could be more about physical refinements than digital transformation.

So, whether you decide to wait or grab a discounted iPhone 16, know this: in 2025, it’s not just about what’s new—but what’s actually worth your money.

    Tatkal Booking Needs Aadhaar Now: IRCTC

    Table of Contents

    Tatkal Booking Needs Aadhaar Now:

MacOS 26 Update Marks: M-Series Chipsets

Apple has officially confirmed that it is phasing out support for Intel-powered Macs, marking the end of an era and solidifying its full transition to M-series chipsets. The announcement came during WWDC 2025, where Apple laid out its macOS roadmap and confirmed that macOS 27, scheduled for 2026, will only support M-series Macs.

If you’re still using an Intel-based MacBook or iMac, you now have a 12-month window to prepare for this major change.

MacOS 26 Tahoe Still Supports Intel Macs — For Now

The newly released macOS 26 “Tahoe” update is currently available for both Intel and Apple Silicon Macs, though support is already being trimmed for older Intel hardware. Some models — especially early Intel MacBook Air variants — are no longer eligible for the macOS 26 update.

This is a clear sign that Apple is accelerating its push away from Intel hardware. macOS 27, expected in mid-to-late 2026, will officially drop Intel support entirely, requiring users to have at least a Mac with M1 chip or newer.

What’s New in macOS 26 Tahoe?

Despite the end-of-support headlines, macOS 26 is packed with new features:

    • Liquid Glass Design: A refined UI that brings a fresh, translucent look across system elements.
    • Phone App on Mac: Users can now take and make calls directly from their Macs, thanks to seamless mirroring from iPhone.
    • Live Activities: New Continuity features that bring real-time syncing for apps across devices.
    • Live Translation: Real-time audio translation during calls and FaceTime, helping bridge communication gaps instantly.
    • FaceTime Enhancements: You can now experience better video and audio effects, making it more interactive and natural.

These features offer a glimpse of the Apple ecosystem’s future — one that will increasingly revolve around Apple Silicon and real-time AI processing.

What Happens to Intel Mac Users?

The big question: What should Intel Mac users do now?

Here’s what Apple has said — and what you should consider:

    • No macOS 27 for Intel Macs: You won’t receive major macOS upgrades beyond macOS 26.
    • Security Updates Will Continue (For a While): Apple is expected to offer security patches for Intel Macs for a couple more years. However, there’s no fixed timeline.
    • New Features Will Be Exclusive to M-Series Macs: Features like AI-based Siri, advanced graphics rendering, and cross-platform support are optimized only for Apple Silicon.

Essentially, your Mac will still work, but the experience will feel increasingly outdated and limited.

Apple’s Shift to M-Series: Why It Matters

Apple’s in-house M-series chips (M1, M2, M3) offer better performance, battery life, and integration with macOS features than Intel processors. By focusing solely on these chips, Apple can streamline software development and offer faster, more energy-efficient experiences.

The move also allows Apple to bring AI and machine learning capabilities directly on-device, something Intel Macs struggle to handle. At WWDC 2025, Apple made it clear that future innovations — particularly AI — will require this level of hardware integration.

    What Should You Do Now?

If you’re using an Intel Mac, here are your options:

    1. Hold On for Now (If Your Needs Are Basic)

If you’re using your Mac for web browsing, writing, or streaming, and it supports macOS 26, you can continue using it safely for the next year or two — but don’t expect new features or long-term security.

    2. Upgrade to M-Series Mac (Best Option for Future-Proofing)

To enjoy future macOS updates and new features, upgrading to an M1 or newer Mac is your best move. The MacBook Air M2 and MacBook Pro M3 offer great performance and battery life with long-term support in mind.

    3. Wait for macOS 27 Preview in 2026 (Risky)

Waiting until 2026 to upgrade might feel tempting, but you’ll miss out on new features in the meantime and risk losing compatibility with apps optimized for M-series.

    AI-Powered Siri Delayed Until 2026

Interestingly, Apple also shared that its AI-enhanced Siri, expected to rival assistant features from OpenAI and Google, is still in development. The company aims to roll it out with macOS 27 and the next-gen iPhone and Mac updates in 2026. This new Siri will require the latest hardware, further limiting its reach on older Intel machines.

    Final Thoughts

Apple’s announcement marks a major shift in how it supports its hardware ecosystem. While macOS 26 Tahoe brings some great upgrades and will be the final macOS version for Intel Macs, the writing is on the wall — it’s time to transition.

If you’re still using an Intel Mac, consider upgrading within the next 12 months to stay secure, productive, and ready for Apple’s AI-powered future.

    • iPhone 16 Pro Max

As seen from this list, iPhone 11 and newer models will support iOS 26. This marks the end of the update cycle for some older iPhones, including the iPhone X, iPhone Xs, and iPhone Xr, which will no longer receive major iOS updates.

    Time to Upgrade?

For users still on iPhone X-series devices, this could be a good time to consider upgrading. With no further security updates or new features coming their way, using unsupported devices could pose both performance and privacy risks.

AI Features Reserved for Latest Models

While many iPhones will support iOS 26, Apple Intelligence features will be limited to iPhone 15 Pro and newer models. This includes AI-driven summarization, improved Siri capabilities, and smart system-wide suggestions powered by on-device machine learning.

Users with older supported iPhones will still get access to design improvements and general performance enhancements, but the full potential of iOS 26 will only be unlocked on the newest hardware.

Public Beta in July, Final Release in September

The developer beta for iOS 26 is already live, but Apple has warned that it is not meant for primary devices as it could contain bugs and stability issues. For most users, the public beta version will be released in July, offering a safer preview of what’s to come.

The stable version of iOS 26 is expected to roll out in September 2025, alongside the launch of the iPhone 17 lineup.

Apple Ends Support for Intel-Powered Macs

Apple has also made a key announcement on the macOS front. The upcoming macOS 26 “Tahoe” update will be the final version to support Intel-powered Macs. This includes older MacBook Air, MacBook Pro, and iMac models still running on Intel chips.

From macOS 27 onwards, Apple will only support Macs powered by Apple Silicon chips (M1, M2, M3, etc.), in a move that finalizes its shift away from Intel. Users still on Intel Macs should plan an upgrade if they want to continue receiving the latest macOS features and security updates.

    Final Thoughts

Apple’s iOS 26 marks a major shift in the iPhone experience, both visually and functionally. While most modern iPhones remain supported, the update also signals the end of support for popular models like the iPhone X and Xs. With the emphasis on AI features and a cleaner design language, Apple continues to refine its ecosystem for users who stay up to date with their hardware.

If you’re eager to explore iOS 26, consider joining the public beta in July — or wait for the stable rollout in September for a more reliable experience.

Starlink Gets Government Nod to Launch: Satellite-Based Broadband Services

In a major step towards transforming digital access in remote parts of India, Elon Musk’s satellite internet venture Starlink has officially received a license from the Department of Telecommunications (DoT) to launch its satellite-based broadband services in the country. The long-awaited approval allows Starlink to operate alongside other satellite service providers like Reliance Jio’s JioSpaceFiber and OneWeb, opening a new era for high-speed internet in previously unconnected regions.

    What Makes Starlink Unique?

Starlink, developed by Musk’s aerospace firm SpaceX, offers internet connectivity through a constellation of low-Earth orbit satellites (LEOs) rather than traditional fibre cables or mobile towers. These satellites, operating at altitudes between 500 to 2,000 km, deliver internet directly to compact dish antennas installed at homes or institutions.

With over 6,000 satellites already in orbit, and plans to grow to 42,000 by 2027, Starlink aims to deliver internet speeds ranging from 50 to 250 Mbps, making it ideal for rural, tribal, and geographically challenging regions. The only requirement is a clear view of the sky.

    Why India Needs Starlink

Despite efforts like BharatNet, connectivity in hilly terrains, border areas, islands, and forest zones remains patchy. Areas like Ladakh, Arunachal Pradesh, Jammu & Kashmir, and the Andaman & Nicobar Islands still struggle with slow or no internet due to the high costs and complexity of deploying fibre or towers.

A senior DoT official called Starlink a “last-mile connectivity solution,” particularly valuable for border surveillance, emergency response, e-learning, telemedicine, and digital governance. Its ability to function independently of ground infrastructure makes it a crucial resource during natural disasters or in conflict-prone zones where conventional networks fail.

    Government Support and Subsidies

Starlink becomes the third satellite internet provider to be licensed in India and is expected to receive trial spectrum within 15-20 days of application, officials said. The government is reportedly considering subsidised connections through public-private partnerships to make Starlink affordable in low-income rural communities.

Affordable access is key,” said a DoT source, hinting at upcoming policy initiatives to ensure broader availability in underserved zones.

    Real Impact on Rural India

Starlink’s high-speed internet can unlock essential services like:

    • Online education for children in Himalayan and tribal villages
    • Telemedicine for remote healthcare
    • E-banking and digital governance
    • Access to real-time government schemes and updates

Analysts note that Starlink will not directly compete with urban fibre or 5G markets in cities like Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, or Hyderabad, where traditional broadband is fast and cheaper. Its real value lies in villages, border posts, and isolated areas where existing providers don’t reach.

    Who Will Benefit First?

The initial rollout is expected to target:

    • Government departments in rural and strategic areas
    • Healthcare and education institutions
    • Defence and disaster management agencies
    • Residential users in remote locations (in later phases)

    Cost Expectations

While Starlink hasn’t officially announced Indian pricing yet, global rates suggest a possible monthly cost of ₹8,000–₹10,000, with the hardware kit (dish + router) priced around ₹50,000–₹60,000. However, sources say India-specific pricing will likely be lower due to affordability concerns and local competition. Subsidised models could further bring costs down in rural areas.

    Privacy, Data Rules, and Security

As a US-based company, Starlink must comply with India’s data localisation laws, which require user data to be stored on domestic servers. The government has emphasized that data privacy and national security are non-negotiable.

Starlink previously attempted to offer pre-orders in India in 2021 but had to pause due to a lack of regulatory clearance. Now, with all approvals in place and after high-level talks between Musk and Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the project is finally on track for a full-fledged launch in 2025.

    The Road Ahead

Starlink’s India launch is poised to revolutionize rural connectivity, bridging digital gaps that traditional infrastructure has long failed to address. As the country moves toward a more inclusive Digital India, satellite broadband could become the backbone of a truly connected Bharat.

Nothing Phone 3 and Headphone 1 Launching: Wireless Headphones

Nothing is all set to host a major global launch event in London on July 1, 2025, and it’s going to be a big day for tech enthusiasts. The London-based tech brand has officially confirmed the debut of two major products — the Nothing Phone 3 and the company’s first-ever wireless headphones, the Nothing Headphone 1 — during the same event.

With the launch window now confirmed, both the flagship smartphone and premium headphones are expected to be released in key markets like India, Europe, and the US shortly after the unveiling. Nothing is continuing its trend of shaking up conventional design and technology norms — and it appears this time, it’s not just smartphones that will make headlines.

Nothing Headphone 1: A Bold Entry Into Premium Audio

After gaining traction with its transparent earbuds — the Nothing Ear (1), Ear (2), and most recently Ear (stick) — the brand is ready to tackle the premium headphone market, currently dominated by names like Sony, Apple, and Bose.

The upcoming Nothing Headphone 1 may sound like an unusual name, but it’s consistent with the brand’s minimalist and number-based naming convention. The company has also released a teaser describing the high-end headphone space as “premium but boring,” and promises to disrupt it with a mix of style, transparency, and superior audio engineering.

Recent leaks and teasers suggest that the Nothing Headphone 1 will feature:

    • A transparent design with visible internal components
    • Premium audio tuning, potentially developed in partnership with British high-fidelity brand KEF
    • Likely support for Active Noise Cancellation (ANC), Hi-Res Audio, and spatial sound
    • Possible battery life upwards of 40 hours with ANC off

These features would put it in direct competition with the Sony WH-1000XM5 and AirPods Max, though Nothing is likely to price its product more competitively — possibly in the ₹25,000–₹30,000 range.

Nothing Phone 3: The Mid-Premium Flagship to Watch

The Nothing Phone 3 is the next iteration of the brand’s popular smartphone series and is expected to build upon the minimalist aesthetics and software fluidity of its predecessors. While official specs are under wraps, leaks indicate that the Phone 3 may come with:

    • A Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 chipset for flagship-grade performance
    • A 6.7-inch AMOLED display with 120Hz refresh rate
    • A refined Glyph interface 2.0, enhancing LED-based interactions on the rear panel
    • Up to 16GB RAM and 512GB storage
    • A 50MP triple-camera setup with upgraded night and portrait modes
    • Android 15-based Nothing OS 3.0

In terms of design, the Phone 3 is expected to stay true to Nothing’s identity — meaning transparent back panel, flat edges, and clean software experience.

Rumors suggest the Phone 3 could be priced starting from ₹39,999 in India, offering stiff competition to the likes of OnePlus 12R, iQOO 12, and Pixel 8a.

India Availability: Expected Soon After Global Launch

India has been a key market for Nothing since day one, and the company is likely to bring both new devices to Indian consumers soon after the global reveal. Retail availability through Flipkart and other e-commerce platforms is expected within a week or two of the July 1 event.

India Availability: Expected Soon After Global Launch

This dual launch is critical for Nothing’s brand image and India Availability: Expected Soon After Global Launch. With Phone 3, the company is attempting to solidify its hold in the competitive premium mid-range smartphone space. And with Headphone 1, Nothing enters uncharted territory — full-size wireless headphones, where strong sound quality, long battery life, and ANC are essential to compete.

The collaboration with KEF signals a serious attempt to offer audiophile-grade sound at accessible prices, further making the case for Nothing as a lifestyle tech brand — not just a smartphone player.

    Final Thoughts

With just weeks to go, anticipation for the Nothing Phone 3 and Nothing Headphone 1 is building. If the company can maintain its promise of design innovation and tech value, it could further disrupt two of the most saturated markets — smartphones and premium audio. July 1 is shaping up to be a defining moment for the brand, and Indian consumers can expect both excitement and availability soon after.

Stay tuned for more details as the event draws closer.
