IBN24 News Network : The issue, which is entirely an Offer for Sale (OFS), comes at a time when demand for recycled aluminium is witnessing strong growth across automotive, infrastructure, and industrial sectors.

Dominating India’s Secondary Aluminium Market

CMR Green Technologies has established itself as a dominant player in the non-ferrous metal recycling industry. The company is estimated to hold around 42–45 percent market share in India’s recycled aluminium automotive alloy segment and operates with a production capacity significantly larger than its nearest domestic competitor.

The company manufactures recycled aluminium alloys, aluminium billets, zinc alloys, and processed metal scrap, catering primarily to automotive OEMs, Tier-1 suppliers, and industrial customers. Its nationwide manufacturing footprint spans multiple states, enabling efficient servicing of major automotive and industrial hubs.

Riding the Sustainability Wave

The long-term investment thesis for CMR Green is closely linked to India’s transition toward sustainable manufacturing and resource efficiency. Producing recycled aluminium requires significantly less energy compared to primary aluminium production, making it an increasingly attractive option for manufacturers seeking to reduce carbon emissions and comply with environmental standards.

Industry projections indicate steady growth in India’s recycled aluminium market over the coming years, driven by rising industrial demand, urbanization, and government initiatives promoting circular economy practices.

As industries focus on ESG compliance and cost optimization, recycled metals are expected to gain a larger share in the overall metals market, creating a favorable environment for established recyclers like CMR Green.

Strong Financial Recovery

CMR Green has demonstrated notable financial improvement in recent years. The company reported revenue exceeding ₹6,600 crore in FY25, supported by growth in recycled metal demand and operational expansion. Profitability also improved significantly compared to the previous fiscal year, reflecting better operational efficiencies and stronger market conditions.

Management has emphasized that the business generates sufficient internal cash flows and maintains a manageable debt profile, enabling it to pursue expansion plans without requiring fresh capital through the IPO.

Key Risks Investors Should Watch

Despite its leadership position, CMR Green is not without risks. A substantial portion of the company’s revenue is derived from recycled aluminium, making earnings sensitive to fluctuations in aluminium prices and industry demand trends. Additionally, customer concentration remains a concern, with a significant share of sales coming from a limited number of large customers.

Since the IPO is entirely an Offer for Sale, the company itself will not receive any proceeds from the issue. While listing is expected to improve visibility and corporate profile, investors often prefer IPOs that raise fresh capital for future growth initiatives.

IPO Details

The ₹630.88 crore IPO opened for subscription on June 3 and will close on June 5, 2026. The price band has been fixed at ₹182–₹192 per share, with a minimum retail application size of 78 shares. The company is expected to list on both the NSE and BSE on June 10, subject to completion of the allotment process.

CMR Green Technologies offers investors exposure to a growing segment of India’s green economy. Its strong market position, extensive recycling infrastructure, and leadership in secondary aluminium production provide a compelling long-term growth narrative. However, investors should balance these strengths against commodity price volatility, customer concentration risks, and the fact that the IPO is a pure OFS.

For investors seeking participation in India’s sustainability and recycling story, CMR Green represents a notable opportunity, particularly for those with a long-term investment horizon and higher risk tolerance.
