Google : Google has introduced a new search method

Google announced two new artificial intelligence tools on Thursday that are designed to make searching for things online “much easier.”

Mobile device users accessing Google on some Android phones can quickly circle or highlight items on their smartphone screen, get additional information, and ask complex or subtle questions about an image or text.

The company said it has been quietly testing the tool since last year to see how generative AI, the technology behind viral chatbots like ChatGPT, can make search more personalized and intuitive.

These features were first announced at an unannounced Samsung event earlier this week and will be available on Galaxy S24 smartphones later this month. Starting January 3, it will also be available on select high-end Android smartphones, including the Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro.

The first feature is called Circle to Search, and it allows Android users to circle, tap, highlight, or doodle on a photo, video, or text to search a person’s social media page. , including the sights behind it.

Also, starting Thursday, people can point their mobile camera at it (or upload a photo or screenshot) and ask questions through the Google app to get information. Google gave an example of finding an unknown board game at a flea market and asking the device how to play it.

Over the years, Google has made changes to search, including voice search and enabling the Lens tool, which uses the image recognition technology in your smartphone’s camera to learn more about the world around you.

Google’s AI play highlights the growing momentum in the tech industry as Microsoft, Amazon, Meta and other big tech companies compete to introduce similar technologies.

“We’ve only just scratched the surface of what’s possible,” the company said in a press release.
