CBSE Class 10 Social Science Sample Paper : Apart from the model papers, the class 10th students also have to solve additional practical questions recently given by the CBSE board. These questions are very comprehensive and are an excellent resource for preparing for the board exam.

Class 10 Social Science (Code No.087) Sample Question Paper 2023-24

Time Allowed: 3 Hours

Maximum Marks: 80

General Instructions:

  1. The questionnaire contains six sections A, B, C, D, E and F. The questionnaire contains 37 questions. All questions are required.
  2. Section A – Questions 1 to 20 are MCQs worth 1 point each.
  3. Section B – Questions 21 to 24 are very short questions worth 2 marks each. Your answer to each question should not exceed 40 words.
  4. Section C consists of questions Q.25 to Q.29, each of which is a short answer question worth 3 points. The answer to each question should not exceed 60 words
  5. Section D – Questions 30 to 33 are long answer questions, each worth 5 points. Your answer to each question should not exceed 120 words.
  6. Section E – Questions No. 34 to 36 are case questions with 3 sub-questions of 4 marks each. Your answer to each question should not exceed 100 words.
  7. Section F – Question No. 37 is map based and worth 5 marks, consisting of two parts: 37a (2 marks) for History and 37b (3 marks) for Geography.
  8. There is no global selection in the questionnaire. However, some questions offer internal choices. For such questions, you just need to try one of the options.
  9. Additionally, separate instructions are provided for each section and question if required.
  10. Note: CBQ stands for “Competency Based Questions”. Performance-related questions receive a weight of 50%.
